Nyepi is a disaster
I'll talk here about Nyepi in a way that's not meant to harm anyone, especially all the people that are Hindus. This is all just my personal opinion as I for the very first time experienced doing Nyepi here.
First thing first, all I knew about Nyepi was just staying at home with the lights off. Well, that's true. But that's why it was disaster. In several last months, I tried to build a new habit of doing some exercises. Especially running, walking, and some light exercise like push up, sit up and etc. Problem came when first hit my feet in Bali. I tried to do run but here, people have a lot of dogs, which I'm afraid will chase me if I was running in front of them, and secondly there's no any running tracks I could find nearby. Well, I know all both are just some sort of excuses. But then, I move to walking, which work pretty well since my living place to my work place are pretty far. But then I moved, I'm renting a house near my work place. So, the chance to repeat 10k of walking as before is totally gone.
Thing became worst when Nyepi is here. I couldn't do both walking and running, obviously. But also at the same time, to my very first time after I made a vow to do some exercises couple months ago, I did exactly what I'd done before. Laying down on my bed all day. Well, I'm afraid If I kept doing it any longer I would be back to my previous sedentary lifestyle. To avoid that, I do some push-ups and squats. Hopefully I don't get to too comfortable with this current situation.
