Back to the Future | Yes Man Project Day 2
It's day 2 of the Yes Man Project, and it's a bit late because I fell asleep #lol. I started this day with randomly said yes to any LinkedIn notification. First, job notifications that I've ignored for a decade. Next, a notification about learning Chinese class, and guess what, I said yes too. I booked a class for this upcoming Monday. Later, I also said yes to someone birthday notification that I barely knew. Normally I would ignore this kind of notifications, but this time I sent him a happy birthday note. He was a bit shocked, yeah who wasn't. Okay, this yeses thing was getting weird now.
I remembered I told my friends a week ago about a plan to go out someday. I texted them to ensure their availability for today. Just then, we were going out. She recommended some places, I said "You decide, whatever it is I'll say yes". The only failure of this yeses thing is to let a women decide something. I took over and decided to go to a place nearby. Later in that place, I was fully just ears to her. She told me a lot about her struggles lately. About her family, finance, and love life. I learned a lot from her stories. I think if someone ask me to go out again any time in the future, it's a direct yes.
Last thing, I drove her home and she invited me to come over. I knew it was just a friendly invitation and she didn't really mean it, so I said no. But on my way home, I kept thinking what would happen if I actually said yes. I kept wondering, what this yes was trying to tell me? If you ever watch the movie named Back to the Future, you might know that if you tweaked something from your past, it would eventually change your entire future. I was wondering what if in every yeses, it would also change my future? What would happen if I said yes to her invitation?
