Habit-Based System
Last night I watched a YouTube video, someone told me to not focus on goals but systems. Seems pretty obvious and predictable, right? I bet you've heard it as well from other youtubers.
However, what makes this one different is she gave me her own system. The habit-based system. She said everything, from daily life to any businesses, we could apply this practical steps system.
So what is the system? Here it is:
1. Trigger
I have written this before, I also believe this is a powerful tool to build a habit. Trigger is simply the thing you do before the new habit. So, you attach your new habit into some daily ritual that you've already done countless time. For instance, you drink a glass of water after you get up in the morning.
2. Process
This is the step-by-step we need to follow when we build a new habit. And this is my morning routine process: I get up from bed, pee in the bathroom, drink a glass of water, clean up my face and teeth, do exercise, and write here. To put it simply, process is the whole package of habit.
3. Track it
This is how to know whether we make a progress or not. The way I do tracking on exercise is by counting every steps. I have an apps for that. Also, writing here is a part of tracking as well. By writing here, I can know, which habit works, which doesn't. And then, what doesn't work I can improve the next day.
For me this whole habit-based system is pretty interesting. I want to put it into practice, to see what will happen to my life later. Besides, this system also makes me write more often. So, let's do it!
