Mini Habits
During my time in Bali, I had read a book named Mini Habits written by Stephen Guise. This book is really helpful. I built running habit, thanks to this book. Then, I came back here later, and the habit has fallen down. A lot of things I did change from the original book insights. One of the things is by having trigger or cue. After read this book, I read another one. That other book was saying anything about the important of having cue/trigger. I fell for it. I changed my running habit which had already been built half way. This small decision ruined everything. I didn't do running as much as my time in Bali.
Just now, I've read this book again, and I didn't realize that this book has the answer I wanted for a long time. You don't need to have a cue/trigger, if you want to have that habit so badly. You can do it once, twice, third and more in a single day. Because you like that habit that much. The thing you need to have is the deadline, not the cue/trigger.
After reading this book for a second time, I've decided to rebuild my habit routines once again. And this is the three habit I will focus (or refocus) on next:
1. Write 50 words
I know I said it before, I even changed it into write three words only. But I'm thinking now, to have a proper writing, you need to have an adequate words in it. So, to have only three words isn't enough. On the other hand, 50 is adequate enough to go with.
2. Exercise 5 Points and 2000 Steps
During my time in Bali, I installed the Google Fit app. In this app, we got a point by moving our body. Also we could know how much steps we have made. I know 10.000 steps is the best, but we are talking about mini habits right now, aren't we?
3. Zero Judgement
I have written an article about it (you can read it for more explanation), and I'll get more serious about it now.
Last but not least, I think this mini habits will work best for me because the flexibility that allows me to do the habit anytime or anywhere. I don't always have time to do the habits, so instead of changing my schedule to fits the habits, let's allow the habits themselves to follow my schedule.
