On Time

One of the things that I'm proud about myself is always showing up on time. Well, not actually always, sometimes still late, but most of the time, I always come at least 10 to 15 minutes early.

I don't know when I started this habit, I think from school. School was always so disciplined, and back then I always followed every rules. One of the rules is coming up early. I've brought this habit to this day. When I work, I'm always trying to come up early. When meeting with someone too, I'm trying to be there before the time.

I know this habit already stuck, however, I didn't have a certain rule about this. How early I should be and what should I do to keep this good habit going? Maybe coming 30 minutes before the time is good, but I don't think that was suitable for me. On the other hand, coming 5 minutes early might also good, but it's so much risky for being late. I think I'll take 15 minutes as my fine-tuning number. And then, what the consequences for being late? I like the Japanese approach to discipline. They say, when a train was late, the train driver (Just googled it, it's called railroad engineer) would bow and say sorry, even if it was just 5 minutes late. I think I would put a kind of similar principle for this. I would rather go back home, if I were to be late.
